These no-bake choc muesli bars are packed with wholesome ingredients like oats, flaxseed, and natural sweeteners, giving kids energy, fiber, and healthy fats without the unnecessary extras.
While many store-bought muesli bars can contain 30+ ingredients (including additives and preservatives), these homemade bars keep it real with just 10–11 simple ingredients most families will have in the cupboard.
Ingredients
- 6 tbsp butter
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup + 2 tbsp honey
- 1.5 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 2 cups instant oats
- 1 3/4 cups Rice Bubbles
- 1/4 cup flaxseed meal
- 1/4 cup choc chips

Optional: 6-8 scoops Base Kids powder
Method
- Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- In a saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar, and honey. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
- Reduce heat and simmer for about 2 minutes, until the sugar has dissolved.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and salt.
- Add oats, rice cereal, and flaxseed meal. Mix well to combine.
- If using, stir through Base Kids powder until evenly distributed.
- Fold in choc chips.
- Press the mixture firmly into the lined tray (I also press some choc chips in to the top at this stage)
- Refrigerate for around one hour or until set.
- Slice into bars and enjoy!
Tip: Press the mixture down firmly to help the bars hold together perfectly.
